CLAMPING TECHNOLOGY - MOUNTING PLATES

Cast iron mounting plates

Cast iron mounting plates represent the ideal base for test rig structures. They offer universal clamping facilities and the highest degree of precision with respect to surface precision and fitting precision of the T-slots. The surface hardness ranges between 180 and 200 HB.

The clamping plates are laid out, calculated and manufactured according to individual customer requirements. For the majority of applications the cast iron plates feature a ribbed substructure. This provides the mounting plates with optimum stiffness and excellent damping characteristics.

T-slots

According to DIN 650, mounting plates can feature T-slots. The standard measures are:

14 mm for M12 T-slotted nut
18 mm for M16 T-slotted nut
22 mm for M20 T-slotted nut
28 mm for M24 T-slotted nut
36 mm for M30 T-slotted nut
42 mm for M36 T-slotted nut
The slot distances on most standard plates measure 150 mm / 200 mm / 250 mm or 300 mm. The T-slots can be cut in longitudinal and lateral direction of the mounting plate.

Rigging options for clamping plates

The following rigging options in test rig setups are available for clamping plates

mounting on a concrete foundation using anchor constructions for high and extremely high dynamic loads
mounting on a concrete foundation using  cast anchors and corrugated metal box for static applications using low forces
direct mounting on vibration isolating elements based on air springs, steel spring isolators or elastomer springs.
Base plates / Mounting plates

Base or mounting plates are employed when the test rig is fixed in one location and no adjustment features are required. We manufacture mounting plates in form of passive plates in cast iron or steel. These base or mounting plates are usually anchored dynamically and durably to the foundation using a anchoring construction.
