Engine Tilting Test Rig
Two-axial tilting test rigs are employed in combustion engine development. They are used to test the lubricating behavior during operation in various sloping positions. This is particularly important for combustion engines in off-road vehicles, forestry and agricultural machines, as well as construction machines.
Marine engines represent a further field of application for this type of test rig. We build engine tilting test rigs that allow dynamic tilting operation along both longitudinal and transverse axis of the combustion engine.
Both axes have a tilting angle range of +/- 45กใ. The tilting speed is continuously adjustable. Depending on the engine type and the requirements, the tilting platform is driven either hydraulically by a servo-controlled hydraulic unit, or by electric units with downstream gears. Alternatively, hydraulic or electric linear actuators can be used to drive the tilting platform.
The tilting test rigs are supplied with the respective controls for the tilting drives. Operation is performed using a manual operator panel with digital display (touch screen). There is a parallel interface to the superordinate engine test stand control, via which angle settings can be transmitted from external sources.
The load unit and the combustion engine are controlled with standard engine test rig controls.
